About Us
Established in 2010 by two dynamic individuals, Mac and Wendy, Highlands Alpaca & Sugarbush Farm is an extraordinary venture backed by real estate and animal behavior expertise. Mac is a real estate developer, a big picture and science guy, while Wendy is a driven animal behavioral and project enthusiast.
Inspired by Mac's serendipitous encounter with an Alpaca on his global cycling journey, the couple's passion for farming and love of these majestic creatures soared to new heights. Wendy and Mac, both seasoned entrepreneurs, embarked on their new adventure by acquiring a small herd from a local farm.
Dedicated Alpaca Farmers
Although they initially received guidance from previous alpaca owners in their community, Wendy's immersive experience on a 300-head alpaca farm owned by exceptional veterinarians in Ohio paved the way for expansion. Driven by their hands-on approach, the couple delved into every aspect of alpaca farming, from understanding their behavior to implementing precise breeding programs and ensuring optimal herd health. Now, they provide their field expertise to help other alpaca farmers in the community.

We operate a Fiber Processing Mill onsite. Creating beautiful products including yarns and accessories from our lovely grass puppies makes each day exciting.
Many of our products are made in-house, but our partners in Peru make alpaca clothing and 100% pure alpaca blankets for us using yarns locally sourced from our alpaca farm.
